Love This Moment Challenge

Friday, January 1st, 2010

I’m so excited to be sharing the Love This Moment Challenge with you. The Challenge is all about fulfilling the Vision, Mission and Purpose of Love This Moment Inspirations.

The Challenge has three main objectives:

  1. To raise $100,000 for Opportunity International’s India Program.
  2. This will allow the creation of between 5,250 and 6,750 businesses in India over 10 years, which gives people the opportunity to make a sustainable living for themselves, so taking themselves and their family out of poverty.

Over 10 years this will transform the lives of between 26,250 and 33,750 people – How awesome is that!?

  3. To inspire people to live their dreams and Love This Moment!
  4. The Challenge isn’t just about transforming the lives of people living in physical poverty. It’s also about transforming the lives of people living in spiritual poverty – in other words, people who aren’t loving their life.

Looking around the developed world it seems there’s no end of people not loving their life – the evidence being in all the violence, drug and alcohol abuse, crime and suicide…and that’s only the most obvious signs.

Many more people live in almost silent desperation – feeling unfulfilled, angry, bitter or depressed, then carefully covering it up so the world won’t know.

This Challenge is about saying, “Life doesn’t have to be that way!”

We can live the life we truly desire in our heart and soul. A life of love and joy. The life of our dreams!

This Challenge is about showing that it’s possible, providing simple and powerful messages to remind us what is possible, and creating the means for people to make it possible.

  5. For me to realise one of my major dreams in life and travel to Antarctica.
  6. For many years I’ve had a burning desire to experience Antarctica, and this Challenge is my way of finally making that dream a reality.

After the trip I’ll create a new book containing lots of beautiful photos of Antarctica, as well as the story of the Challenge and the trip itself. My intention is for the book to inspire people to live their dreams by “looking outside the square” and seeing how they can help others by achieving their dream. I’ll also be using it to raise more funds for Opportunity International, hence I’ll be using this Challenge as an example!

I’ll be posting updates about the Challenge in this blog, so be sure to check on how it’s going!

The Power of Gratitude

GRATITUDE

When you are grateful for all the world as a gift from up above,
You’ll realise what you’re doing is simply allowing love

Gratitude

Intention For The Week

Become aware of things in your life to appreciate and be grateful for.

Simple Empowerment Steps

  1. Whenever you brush your teeth ask yourself, “What am I grateful for?”
  2. If something happens that upsets you, ask, “What can I be grateful for here?”
  3. When you go out, let go of any expectations about what you want to happen and instead go with the intention of simply appreciating the people you meet, the places you go and whatever events take place.
  4. Notice how any of the above make you feel.

PURPOSE

Every person’s true desire, throughout their very soul,
Is to live a life of love and joy. To be one and true and whole

Purpose

Intention For The Week

Make decisions based on what it is you really want.

Simple Empowerment Steps

Joseph Campbell put it perfectly… “Follow your Bliss!”

I put it slightly differently… “Love This Moment!”

Seriously, that’s all there is to it.

To reach a dream that seems remote…

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

PERSISTENCE

To reach a dream that seems remote you must round every bend,
Instead of always turning back to retrace your steps again

Persistence

Sometimes it can seem like the journey towards a particular goal will never end, but it’s important to remember that as long as you keep heading towards the goal and taking a step forward you will get there.

Just like on a real journey, for 99% of the time you aren’t at your destination, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t getting closer!

Think of it this way, if you were driving from Brisbane to Sydney, would you turn around at Port Macquarie just because you couldn’t see Sydney yet?

Intention For The Week

Be aware of a major dream in your life – what it is you really want – and keep moving towards it.

Simple Empowerment Steps

  1. Find something that will remind you of your dream and place it where you will see it every day.
  2. This could be a picture, a book, or simply you writing your dream on a card or in a journal that you read each day.

  3. Forget about how near or far the dream seems from you and focus instead on a single step.
  4. What is something you can do today that will take you one step closer to that dream?

Don’t worry if the step is a large or small one provided it’s heading towards your dream.

  5. Repeat Step 2 tomorrow, and each day after that.

The more regularly you take a single step – whether large or small – the faster you will reach your dream.

If you stop taking steps towards your dream you’ll stop moving closer. If this happens, remember that it doesn’t matter what you did or didn’t do yesterday, you can always take another step today.

And you never know when your dream may be hidden around just the next bend!
