While at the Mind Body Spirit Festival I was pondering all the people going to see psychics. I’ve noted before at the beach markets on the Gold Coast just how busy the fortunetellers are compared to the rest of the stalls.
It seems that our fascination with our future stems from the belief, or perhaps hope, that the future will be better than now.
The problem with this is that the only time we really have is now…now is it – always and forever – and the future is something that doesn’t truly exist except as now. Now is when we can be happy, now is when we can be at peace, now is when we can laugh and love…only now.
We sometimes think the key to our lives is held somewhere in the future, when in truth everything we could ever truly want in our heart and soul lies within us right now – it’s just a matter of firstly remembering it and then embracing it.
Intention For The Week
Anytime you notice yourself looking to the future or an outside circumstance for fulfillment, come back into the present and give yourself or another right now whatever it is you’re looking for.
Simple Empowerment Steps
- If you’re like me you’ve had a lifetime of practice of living in the past or future, with the expectation of outside circumstances or people being required for your fulfillment.
- Stand in front of a mirror and look deeply into your own eyes. Allow any thoughts to just drift across your consciousness as though they are clouds in the sky and not yours at all.
So don’t berate yourself when you notice yourself not being present, or forgetful of your true greatness. Instead celebrate your expanding awareness and the opportunity it now gives you to make a different choice. The more you notice and choose differently, the easier it becomes.
Look deeply past the layers of identity and past you’ve created and see what lies beneath.
Allow your heart to fill with love.
